Guardian Celebrates Senior Citizens Day For A Good Cause

Living up to its expectation being one of the most prominent corporate in championing the cause for unfortunates, Guardian Malaysia has celebrated Senior Citizens Days consecutively for more than ten years at Ikano Power Centre, Mutiara Damansara recently.



Themed Wellness For All, this year's aim is to create greater awareness on how senior citizens can pursue an active and fun-filled meaningful life during their golden years by taking responsibility of their own health.

At the ceremony Guardian's Chief Operating Officer, Miss Loi Liang Tok (pic above, second from left) presented a RM8,000 cheque to National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM) who was represented by Chairperson of NASAM Petaling Jaya, Ms Sheila Joachim (pic below, centre). Miss Loi said," we will continue to raise funds for worthy causes whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle amongst our customers. As most trusted Pharmacy chain in Malaysia, we believe that we must help garner public awareness towards sustaining a healthy living and making it an integral part of our daily lives through our wellness campaigns. We strive to inculcate the importance of attaining a better quality of life to all Malaysians irregardless of age and gender". Also present at the event were, Guardian's Senior Executives Merchandising General Manager, Soon Ai Lan (pic below, far left), Guardian's Operations General Manager, Mr. Ricky Soon (pic below, second from right) and Guardian's IT General Manager, Yang Kim Lan (pic below, far right).


During the 'Wellness For All' campaign, members of the Guardian's Golden Priviledge Card were given free health checks, while the non-members who fulfilled the criteria being the senior citizens, were also given a free health checks as well. As part of its CSR efforts, Guardian's introduction of Golden Priviledge Card is to allow all Malaysians aged 55 and above to enjoy 10% discount on all pharmaceutical items, health supplements and othe health related products.

The five-day fair was participated by well-known partners like Abbot Nutrition, Blackmores, Centrum, Eucerin, Kordel's, Seven Seas, Tiger Balm, Brand's, Polident, Bio-Essence, and L'oreal.

Sa Sa Colors & Fragrance Fair & Awards 2010 is Making Waves Among the Shoppers

The much awaited moments of the year, Sa Sa Colors & Fragrance Fair & Awards 2010 Presentation Ceremony was the biggest & the most talked-about event of the annual re-runs, participated by famous homegrown celebrities as well as well-known artistes. Held at Main Concourse, LG1, Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre on 1 October 2010, the momentous event was attended by various media representatives, trade partners and over 30 famous bloggers in town with one universal objective. That is to celebrate the awards presentation to the winners of the 6 fragrance categories voted by the Malaysian consumers which emerged after 38 days weeks of pain-staking promotional campaign.

For third consecutive years, Sa Sa Colors & Fragrance Fair & Awards, has collaborated with well-known trade partners namely, DKNY, ITF, L’Oreal PCI, P&G Prestige and Marina De Bourbon, with each brandname strutting-out its hottest array of fragrances. To mark its improvement of awareness among Sa Sa's fragrance followers, a grand total of 38,436 votes were sucessfully casted this year, where votes were accumulated from all Sa Sa stores as well as from the dedicated event microsite @

Commencing its campaign on 27 August 2010, the Sa Sa Awards has kicked-off with 12 nominated fragrances during its run-ups for best-known industry titles, namely Best Women’s Fragrance, Best Men’s Fragrance, Best Couple Fragrance, and Fragrance of the Year 2010. As for the newly introduced Special Colorscentsations Award, best matched fragrance and “color look” from the three nominees; namely the sweetness and warmth of Happiness look, the coolness and funkiness of Free Spirit look and the combination of independence and modern in the Confidence look. These three different make-up looks are set to match with the three special fragrance nominees to bring out the best aspiration and feel for one another.


Judging the fragrances winner was determined by a panel of judges, consisted of local celebrities such as Amber Chia (Top Model), Sazzy Falak & Nazril Idrus (Celebrity Couple), Awal Ashaari (TV Host) and Owen Yap (Award Winning TV Host), where judges' decision made-up of 40% contributed points, another 40% was contributed by votes casted by general public while the balance 20% was obtained from the results of fragrance sales tabulated up until 30 September 2010.


The worthy winners of the Fragrance Awards 2010 for the six
award categories are:

· Best Women’s Fragrance – GUCCI Flora by Gucci from P&G PRESTIGE
· Best Men’s Fragrance – BOSS Bottled Night from P&G PRESTIGE
· Best Couple Fragrance – DSQUARED2 He Wood Ocean Wet Wood & She Wood Crystal Creek Wood from ITF
· Fragrance Of The Year 2010 – DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom from ADF
· Special Colorscentsations Award – Free Spirit : ANNA SUI Rock Me! Summer Love by P&G PRESTIGE
· Online People’s Choice Award – ANNA SUI Rock Me! Summer Love by P&G PRESTIGE

Meanwhile, Sa Sa also gave out Fragrance Fair dip prizes to its lucky shoppers who had purchased nominated fragrances during the campaign.

The prizes are:

· Grand Prize – A Designer Diamond Necklace worth over RM8,000 + RM2,000 Colors & Fragrance product hamper

· 1st Prize – 1 bottle of the winning fragrance from each category (5 bottles) + RM2,000 Sa Sa Gift Certificates

· 2nd Prize – 3 bottles of fragrances from the Sa Sa Fragrance Fair & Awards 2010 + RM1,000 Sa Sa Gift Certificates + RM1,000 AW Color Collection Hamper

As part of its CSR efforts, Sa Sa has contributed RM1 for every bottle of fragrance sold during the campaign to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA). Galeri Petronas Celebrating Nation's 53rd Birthday

In conjunction with Malaysia's 53rd anniversary celebration, Galeri Petronas has launched its "Celebrate Malaysia" featuring two new art exhibitions namely, Young Malaysian Artists: New Objec(tion) and Word+Pictures+Book at Galeri Petronas, 3rd Floor Suria KLCC recently.



The Young Malaysian Artists: New Ojec(tion) exhibition, highlights radical new concept of Malaysian art, as 40 of the new artworks was creatively produced by 40 young artists aged between 25 to 45 years old. These artworks introduce free-for-all, no-holds-barred exhibition which exudes traditional aesthetics through methodology and philsophical concerns in response to the world around them. The participating artists were also allowed to explore their true creative inclinations in the hope of unearthing their true great talent and its contributions to the diversity of Malaysian art.
Meanwhile, the Words+Pictures=Book exhibition, offers the Malaysian public an insight into the world of children's picture book illustration through a fascinating exploration which takes viewers into a dynamic, dreamlike and engaging environment with 10 uniquely Malaysian tales told in different styles. As an addition, this new exhibition also serves to elevate the status of Malaysian picture book illustration to a serious art form and set-up as a platform to inspire new breed of young illustrators.

Officiating the launch of new artworks, by YBhg Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, who voiced,"Young Malaysian Artists-New Objec(tion) is a brash and edgy exhibition of new voices, while Words+Picture=Book is the first ever exhibition on the contemporary Malaysian picture book illustrations, a true milestone in our ever-evolving art landscape". Also present at the event were, Mr. Mohammad Medan Abdullah, Senior General Manager, Corporate Services Division, Petronas and Director of Galeri Petronas, Puan Hajjah Hartini Haji Abdullah.

The "Celebrate Malaysia" exhibitions will run until 3rd October 2010 and admission is free.

SAP is Targeting 1Billion Users by 2014

SAP, the world's leading provider of business software, is expected to have a billion users in using its business applications within 5 years. With more than 97,000 customers as well as 34 million users in over 120 countries, the company has kickstarted its Asia Leadership Dialogues 2010 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.

Speaking at media conference, Mr. V.R Srivatsan, Managing Director of SAP Malaysia, voiced "...this year the SAP World Tour in Kuala Lumpur features technologies which customers can adopt at their own pace, without disruption, giving them the edge on their competition by enabling their own corporate strategies...". Srivatsan also pointed out,"our role is to have visible presence with the business consumer, we want to provide the right business application to business users so that they can make decisions".

Colourland Malaysia Launches "Bonanza Buka Dan Menang" Campaign
