Galeri Petronas Celebrating Nation's 53rd Birthday

In conjunction with Malaysia's 53rd anniversary celebration, Galeri Petronas has launched its "Celebrate Malaysia" featuring two new art exhibitions namely, Young Malaysian Artists: New Objec(tion) and Word+Pictures+Book at Galeri Petronas, 3rd Floor Suria KLCC recently.



The Young Malaysian Artists: New Ojec(tion) exhibition, highlights radical new concept of Malaysian art, as 40 of the new artworks was creatively produced by 40 young artists aged between 25 to 45 years old. These artworks introduce free-for-all, no-holds-barred exhibition which exudes traditional aesthetics through methodology and philsophical concerns in response to the world around them. The participating artists were also allowed to explore their true creative inclinations in the hope of unearthing their true great talent and its contributions to the diversity of Malaysian art.
Meanwhile, the Words+Pictures=Book exhibition, offers the Malaysian public an insight into the world of children's picture book illustration through a fascinating exploration which takes viewers into a dynamic, dreamlike and engaging environment with 10 uniquely Malaysian tales told in different styles. As an addition, this new exhibition also serves to elevate the status of Malaysian picture book illustration to a serious art form and set-up as a platform to inspire new breed of young illustrators.

Officiating the launch of new artworks, by YBhg Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, who voiced,"Young Malaysian Artists-New Objec(tion) is a brash and edgy exhibition of new voices, while Words+Picture=Book is the first ever exhibition on the contemporary Malaysian picture book illustrations, a true milestone in our ever-evolving art landscape". Also present at the event were, Mr. Mohammad Medan Abdullah, Senior General Manager, Corporate Services Division, Petronas and Director of Galeri Petronas, Puan Hajjah Hartini Haji Abdullah.

The "Celebrate Malaysia" exhibitions will run until 3rd October 2010 and admission is free.

SAP is Targeting 1Billion Users by 2014

SAP, the world's leading provider of business software, is expected to have a billion users in using its business applications within 5 years. With more than 97,000 customers as well as 34 million users in over 120 countries, the company has kickstarted its Asia Leadership Dialogues 2010 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.

Speaking at media conference, Mr. V.R Srivatsan, Managing Director of SAP Malaysia, voiced "...this year the SAP World Tour in Kuala Lumpur features technologies which customers can adopt at their own pace, without disruption, giving them the edge on their competition by enabling their own corporate strategies...". Srivatsan also pointed out,"our role is to have visible presence with the business consumer, we want to provide the right business application to business users so that they can make decisions".

Meanwhile, Mr. Krish Datta, President of SAP South East Asia, said"SAP's product strategy makes it easier for people to work more efficiantly and use business insight more effectively, and at the same time, helping companies of all sizes grow profitably and sustainably. Mr. Krish added,"...we can innovate at the pace of customers and we want to grow on demand which applications suit, where does it suits you, what you want to use, how you want to grow your business..."
