Expected to be broadcast live over 100 countries with a possibility of reaching over two billion viewers from the worldwide, VW Cars has played its vital role in sponsoring 30 Volkwagen Touareg 4x4 SUVs to this year's edition of Monsoon Cup that runs from 3rd to 7th December,2008 in Duyong Island, Terengganu.
Speaking at the momentous occassion, Dato' IIyas Mohamed, CEO of VW Cars,"We're proud to be one of the principal local sponsors of the Monsoon Cup event, which has over the past three years, grown into a prestigious international event". The climax of the World Match Sailing Tour in its fourth instalment which features 12 best teams from the world, is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors.
The Volkswagen Touareg, a luxury SUV with an impressive mix of high-tech gadgetry geared for dynamic performance, will be used to transport VIPs and skippers from various points to the event site during the Monsoon Cup 2008.
