In delivering ultimate space-saving, power efficient computing solution, ASUS, producer of the world renowned Eee PC™, has unveiled the new Eee Box at The Apartment, the Curve recently. The new Eee Box not only features a stylish, low power computer with a minimal footprint, but also offers amazing journeys where users learn, work and play – all in line with the Eee PC™’s main tenet of easy use. Powered by Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHz), Intel Chipset and Microsoft Windows XP Home, the new Eee Box is equipped with DDR2 So-DIMM 1 GB, a storage capability of 80GB and multiple card reader SD/SDHC/MS/MS Pro/MMC.

With the exclusive Express Gate – ASUS’ innovative fast boot technology, users can easily access the Internet, manage pictures, or communicate over IM/Skype just 7 seconds* after boot up. The Eee Box also supports the latest WiFi 802.11n wireless standard – providing up to eight times faster connectivity than previous 802.11b/g wireless. RHB Banking Group Shares the Joy of Syawal with Orphans & Senior Citizens

The RHB Banking Group shares the joy of Syawal with over a thousand orphans from 14 Orphanages across nationwide, together with, Rumah Ehsan Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor, old folks home, which housed 110 underprivileged senior citizens.

The charity programme commenced at the Pondok Penyayang Raudhah, Selangor with the Chairman of RHB Bank Berhad, Datuk Azlan Zainol giving out duit raya to the orphans. Every participating charity homes also received a cheque, to be used for maintenance and utilities for the festive season.

Datuk Azlan said, “RHB has always had a soft spot for children. In line with the teachings of Islam to foster the spirit of giving and sharing in the month of Syawal, we hope our little contribution will make a difference to the children’s Hari Raya celebration. They truly deserve to be as happy and cheerful as all of the other children out there.”

This goodwill gesture also involves RHB staff nationwide as they visit and distribute duit raya to the recipients in other states.

Woods Macrobiotics Malaysia Holding International Macrobiotic Conference

Malaysia will be hosting the inaugural International Macrobiotic Conference, this coming October 24-26, 2008. Organised by June Ka Lim, founder of Woods Macrobiotics Malaysia , the event is the first of its kind ever to be held in Southeast Asia in conjunction with World Vegan Day.

According to Lim, “Macrobiotics is a Greek word, in which Macro means ‘long’, and bio means ‘life’. Highlights include informative lectures on how global climate changes are impacting health and how a macrobiotic approach can prevent diseases. Attendees will also learn about macrobiotic cooking and specific menu planning, detoxification for slimming and beauty purposes, mind detoxification and how to read the face for health, among others.
